DARTLO TOWERS

Darlo village

Dartlo Towers(Region of  Tusheti)

Dartlo (Georg. დართლო). The beautiful village is located 2,000 meters above sea level, on the banks of the Alazani River, on the northern slope of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Its site on the mountainside is impressive and is distinguished by its vernacular architecture of dry masonry and slate roofs, where the inhabitants knew how to preserve the culture and way of life of their ancestors.

Unique, mysterious, fabulous, amazing, extraordinary are some of the words that come to mind when seeing this traditional village in the mountainous region of Georgia. Another type of accommodation in the village is houses with a covered balcony and additional storage space (for non-perishable food items or survival equipment). Many of these houses have recently been converted into guest rooms
