Historical and Architectural Museum of Dadiani Palaces (Georgian: დადიანების სასახლეთა სახელმწიფო ისტორიულ-არქიტექტურული მუზეუმი) or Dadiani Palace (Cargo. დადიანების სასახლე ) – The palace of the Mingrelian princes Dadiani, one of the most impressive examples of royal architecture, striking with its grace and elegance. The residence of the princes of Samegrelo (Odishi)(Georgian: სამეგრელო (ოდიში)). One of the few remaining palaces in Georgia. The largest and most impressive attraction with a variety of artifacts and architecture. The Historical and Architectural Museum houses museum exhibits and religious relics (The shroud of the Virgin Mary) of world importance. The surname Dadiani refers to лof an ancient aristocratic family, known to be related to Napoleon Bonaparte. and in in connection with that owns Napoleon-related relics. (Including one of the emperor’s three posthumous masks).
The museum holds about 50,000 exhibits, samples of national (from the Bronze Age to the end of the 19th century) and European cultural heritage. Many rare exhibits , representing Colchian and ancient Greek culture, unique gold items, relics of the Dadiani family and works by European artists. Library, where thousands of manuscripts, rare books and volumes are kept. Objects belonging to the imperial families of Great Britain, Russia, China, Japan and other countries. A collection of luxurious weapons of the rich nobility и an impressive photographic fund – more than five thousand unique vintage photos. On the basis of this garden, a botanical garden with a total area of 26.4 hectares was formed. Individual trees here are about 200 years old, some of which are single specimens on the Eurasian continent.
