You will visit the Lavra of David, learn about the origins of Christian asceticism and get acquainted with the life of local monks. See the caves carved into the rock with preserved examples of Georgian medieval monumental painting. Admire the steppe, changing color depending on the season, hills of bizarre shapes and the majestic Caucasus Mountains.
Next you will visit the Bodbe Monastery, where the relics of the patroness of Georgia, Saint Nino, are kept. The territory of the monastery is distinguished by a special enchanting atmosphere of peace. You will walk along the ancient streets of the city of Sighnaghi, admire the breathtaking view of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains. A trip to the cave monastery complex — David Gareji. The monastery complex is a true symbol of the history and spirituality of Georgia. The monastery has witnessed epochal events that took place under the arches of its temples and centuries-old walls. Here you can feel the breath of time, as if past eras and modernity are intertwined, creating a unique moment of eternity. Its size, its architecture, its location - all this makes it amazing and inspiring.
The foundations of the monastery complex were laid in the first half of the 6th century by the Assyrian monk David. Together with his disciple, he settled in a small cave in the middle of the Gareja desert and soon founded the first monastery there – the Lavra of David.
Currently, the complex consists of about 20 monasteries carved into the rocks. The main monastery is considered to be the Lavra of St. David, which is located on the northern slope of the mountain. According to National Geographic magazine, the David Gareji monastery complex is one of the wildest and most beautiful places in the world.
Visit to the Bodbe Monastery. The monastery embodies ascetic severity and religious grandeur. It is here that the relics of St. Nino, who is considered the Enlightener of the Georgian people, are currently kept.

Sighnaghi is famous for its fortress of the same name, which is included in the list of the most famous and largest fortresses in Georgia. Along the perimeter of the walls, 28 watchtowers have been preserved, offering a wonderful view of the Alazani Valley.
